Delete Your Quick Cut Account

If you no longer wish to use Quick Cut, you may request deletion of your account. This page explains how to delete your account, what happens to your personal data, legal exceptions, and how you may recover or appeal a deletion.

How to request account deletion
  • In-app: Go to **Settings → Account → Delete Account** and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • By email: Send a deletion request to **quickcut@codeworklab.com** from the email address registered to the account. Include your full name and user ID (if known).
  • By phone: Call our support team at **+94765499594** and request account deletion (we will verify your identity).
Identity verification
  • For security, we will verify your identity before processing deletion (e.g., confirmation email, SMS code, or ID verification for certain requests).
  • If you request deletion by email or phone, we may ask for additional information to confirm you are the account owner.
What will be deleted immediately
  • Your public profile (where applicable) will be hidden from other users within 24 hours of the deletion request being accepted.
  • Access to the account (login) will be disabled immediately once deletion is processed.
What data we retain and for how long
  • We will permanently delete or anonymize most personal data within **2 days** of confirming deletion, except where legal or operational retention is required.
  • Certain information may be retained for longer to comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, enforce agreements, resolve disputes, or comply with regulatory requirements (for example, billing records may be retained for **2 years** as required by tax laws).
  • Where data is retained for legal reasons it will be securely stored and access will be restricted to authorized personnel only.
Consequences of deletion
  • Deletion is permanent: you will lose access to your account, saved bookings, loyalty points, transaction history, reviews, messages and any other user-specific content, unless otherwise stated.
  • Any active subscriptions or bookings will not be automatically refunded by deletion; please cancel subscriptions and outstanding bookings before requesting deletion or contact support for assistance.
  • If you used social login (e.g., Apple, Google, Facebook), you should also remove the app’s access from your social account settings if you want complete disconnection.
Recovery & grace period
  • If we offer a grace period, you may be able to recover your account within **1 days** by contacting support (specify your support email/portal). After the grace period, recovery is not possible.
  • If immediate permanent deletion is required for legal reasons, recovery may not be available.
Legal exceptions & obligations
  • We may refuse or delay deletion requests to the extent necessary to comply with applicable law, protect public safety, or to investigate suspected fraud or abuse.
  • Data required to be kept by law (e.g., tax records, anti-fraud records) will be retained for the legally required period even after account deletion.
How we delete data
  • We delete or anonymize personal data using industry-standard methods for secure deletion.
  • Backups and logs may persist for a limited time; these will be overwritten or securely deleted as part of our normal backup retention cycle.
Children & guardian requests
  • If the account belongs to a minor and you are the parent or legal guardian, contact us to request deletion. We may require additional documentation to confirm guardianship.
How to exercise related rights
  • If we refuse or delay deletion, we will explain the reason and the legal basis. You may appeal by contacting use this Privacy Policy delete-account.
  • If you remain unsatisfied, you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, such as the Data Protection Authority of Sri Lanka under the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

Notes for implementers / developers
  • Implement an in-app flow that triggers a deletion request to your backend with identity verification and logs the request.
  • Expose a status to users: “Pending deletion,” “Deleted,” or “Deletion completed” where applicable.
  • Create an admin dashboard to view and manage deletion requests and legal holds. Log all actions for auditability.
  • Automate anonymization and deletion tasks where possible, but provide manual override for legally required holds.
